Contributions for certificate obligations

In compliance with the legal requirement to submit green power and cogeneration certificates and/or analogue certificates regarding the development of renewable energy sources, contributions for certificate obligations are billed. The Renewable Energy Contribution and, where applicable, the Cogeneration Contribution, is (are) shown separately on the bill. These amounts are adjusted to reflect changes in the legislation and are calculated as follows:

  • Renewable Energy contribution (HEB): Q x Pc;
  • Cogeneration contribution (WKK): Q x Pc in the Flemish Region;

Where:
Q is equal to the number of green power certificates, and, if applicable, cogeneration certificates that must be submitted in accordance with applicable law (included but not limited to the application of any degressivity and exemptions), expressed as a percentage of the MWh offtaken by the Customer. Pc is equal to the price to be paid by the Customer per certificate to be submitted, expressed in EUR/certificate, as defined hereinafter per region respectively for the renewable energy contribution and, if applicable the cogeneration contribution. The parameter Pc shall be reduced by ENGIE, as the case may be, in accordance with the applicable legal provisions.
